“To the best of my knowledge, this is one of only two basketball courts in Kpando (the other one being south of town at Kpando Senior High School, which I have not yet visited), and the only one with concrete floor. It is located at Kpando Stadium (home of the Ghana Premier League team Heart of Lions Football Club). The court is said to be always accessible - I don't know if that holds true in the evenings and at night and during football league matches. The court dimensions seem to be approximately regulation size, though I have not measured. The backboards are wooden and in good shape, same with rims and nets. Unfortunately both rims are too low (I would guess maybe at about 280 cm = between 9 and 9.5 feet). The court floor is made of concrete blocks, which are not entirely smooth, but playable. Some grass is growing in the cracks. Freethrow lines, restricted zone (rather large) and three-point lines are painted on both sides. There are some benches on the courtside. Side note: If you are looking for a basketball in Kpando, there is a shop in a blue-and-white container opposite the main stadium entrance which supposedly sells balls. I've only been there on a public holiday when they were closed, so this is not first-hand information. Otherwise near the market there is another small shop that sells footballs and volleyballs and that sometimes has basketballs as well or can order them from Accra.” – tenrec (8 years ago)
