Romanias VIT – The Sportarena Streetball Championships

Very Important Tournament

Some streetball tournaments are known worldwide – the EBC in NYC or Quai54 in Paris just to name two… – others are not and still they are most important to a regional scene. The Sportarena Streetball Championships is such a series of tournaments that without a single doubt became a social phenomenon on the top basketball court of Romania – Politehnica!

This streetball tournament is the most important 3on3 and 5on5 streetball tournament series in Romania having hosted almost 1.000 teams (4.000 players) in 2008. 2009 is the 5th consecutive year the series takes place and the aim to make things even more spectacular than in 2009 is set high. Making it even more spectacular also means topping the list of VIP dunkers such as Flying 101 (USA), Slam Nation (France), Kadour Ziani (France), Ken Golden Child (USA), Guy Dupuy (France), Troy McCroy (USA), Justin Darlington (Canada), Peter Kostic (Serbia) and Dmytro Kryvenko a.k.a. “Smoove” (Ukraine).

The Sportarena Streetball Championships are worth visiting – either to compete or to chill and enjoy not being bashed by the strong competition. This years event series consists of 5 events and it is a shame that not more teams from all over Europe come down for the battle in Romania. Take a look why it´s a shame that you were not there in 2008…

  • Sport Arena rocks!

    Probably the best streetball tournament in the South East Europe!! Exciting games, amazing dunk contests, lots of people. I think everyone who’s been here agrees that this is the place to be 4 a balla’ :) Enough said, watch the vids, see the pics and come. You will come again and again then… I did! :D

  • I’m only 14, and I’m a girl, but I love basket, I love sport and I’m totally inlove of Politehnica Sport Arena, Bucharest, Romania. I saw many picture and movies about streetball on many country but nothing compares to Sport Arena. And is not about the court (wich is the best and modern that I see) but is about “the mood”, you know !, the feelings and the emotions that are been created amoung the player here in the tournement, competitions, training. You feel that you LIVE! And that is all! If you don’t believe’it, come and see!

    I wont to know, where and who can i ask about this streetball event ,,becouse i have good team and we wont to come to contest
    I am Player who qualify from Serbia to go to Alkatraz for Red Bull King of the Rock tournament in San Francisco in september 2011..And my team have history of success in our soil,and other states
    so i think we have quality for your turnament
